With the agreement between FIFA and EA Sports ending, we are dawned on a new era of soccer by EA Sports. With the brand new title of “EA Sports FC 24” now out for all players to enjoy, this is my overall review of the game.
Let’s break down the new features added to the game. First, career mode has added a new contract feature. This feature allows you to pick a club you want to be at and you have to meet the goals of that club for them to sign you.
However, if I wanted to get to Real Madrid in my second season I had to score five bicycle kick goals, which is simply unrealistic. Although, I understand it shouldn’t be realistic to go from Division Four soccer in England to Real Madrid in one season, but I digress.
The career mode also has a weird glitch in the game as well. When I tried to make a goalkeeper for my career mode, it switched me to a right midfielder. I don’t understand why it is doing that but it is irritating, to say the least.
Moving on to pro clubs, I have had a blast playing pro clubs this year. The games are quick and the match flows freely. However, I feel that the CPUs really have no impact on the games and they focus more on your player in the match.
Connecting to games has also been brutal this year. I will find a match to play and then I either don’t connect to the opponent or I lose connection entirely. Sometimes it takes me ten minutes to find one singular game to play.
Ultimate Team has been fun so far, but even though I have my newer squad, I have already run into mega squads or god squads. My opponent’s team is just significantly better and there is nothing that I can do about it. I do not want to have to spend money to get a good squad right off the bat.
While I get that the game has just been released, I did find a big bug in my manager mode as I somehow signed a player and made my game freeze up. It made zero sense but it kept happening after I tried to sign a player. To say the game has some bugs would be an understatement.
Overall, with all the bugs and just unfair gameplay, I feel that this game needs to be polished. Right now, this game is a five out of ten for me but once they fix what needs to be fixed, I see this game being a solid eight and a half out of ten.
