52nd Light Up night event to happen November 16
The weather is getting colder and soon Christmas will be upon us. Along with the change in the weather and the overload of holiday decorations, comes a tradition in Pittsburgh known as Light Up night. Those from Pittsburgh have seen the spectacle which consists of downtown Pittsburgh being lit up in hundreds of thousands of Christmas lights.
This year will celebrate Pittsburgh’s 52 light up night and will bring more of the splendor and magic of the holiday season as well as the opportunity to shop and enjoy the company of friends. In addition to watching all of the lights, there are plenty of parties, activities, and events happening that night including several live performances from various bands. The night will kick off at 5 p.m. with parties going on downtown at The Market Square, The Clemente Bridge, The EQT Plaza, and dozens of other places around the city.
Trib Total Media will be throwing their annual bash at the Clemente Bridge which will include live bands, fireworks, and lots of entertainment. The Market Square will be filled with activity all night provided visitors the opportunity to shop, eat, and enjoy the festivities. At 9:30, participants can expect to be amazed with the annual Zambelli firework and pyrotechnic show as hundreds of fireworks are launched from the Warhol Bridge.
Light up night begins November 16 at 5:30 in downtown Pittsburgh. The event itself is free, but taking cash and arriving early for parking is a good idea.
