This Week on Campus: 3/19/23-3/25/23

There are a whole host of events that are happening on campus this week. Check out what is happening below:

March 21, 2023: On Tuesday, the organization Positive Advocates is hosting a crazy sock contest through Instagram to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day. To enter, share your photos on Instagram and tag Positive Advocates (@rmupositiveadvocates) Submissions will be accepted from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with winners announced afterwards.

March 21, 2023: Also on Tuesday, the Office of Residence Life is hosting a game night to help students destress from the semester. Students are encouraged to come to the Marshall Hall lounge from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. to play some board games with a few fellow classmates.

March 22, 2023: On Wednesday, the Office of Residence Life will be hosting a scavenger hunt called “Bobby Mo’s Gold Hunt.” The scavenger hunt will be held all around campus from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

March 22, 2023: Also on Wednesday, the Office of Residence Life will be hosting another Rock, Paper, Scissors tournament titled Rock, Paper, Scissors Part 2: The Sequel. The tournament will be held in Hopwood Hall starting at 6:00 p.m. Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers.

March 23, 2023: On Thursday, the Office of Residence Life will be hosting a Painting for Stress Relief event in the Lower Lobby of Salem Hall from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. At the event, students can choose to paint either a mug or on a canvas.

March 24, 2023: On Friday at 1:15 p.m. in the UPMC Events Center, the Women in Leadership Program will be hosting its seventh annual Women and Transformational Leadership Symposium. That event will feature female leaders from around the area, topics that affect gender equality in the region, as well as Keynotes Speaker, Margaret Larkins- Pettigrew.

March 24, 2023: Also on Friday, the RMU Sports Management Association will be hosting its annual Dodge in the Dark event. The competition will consist of up to 20 teams of six players each that will compete in a glow in the dark dodgeball contest for prizes. At the event, students can also purchase raffle tickets and enjoy food. Player entry is $10 per person and guests can attend for $5 each. All proceeds will be donated to the Mario Lemieux foundation.
