Xbox Games Studios, formerly known as Microsoft Studio, hosted their first “Inside Xbox” event on Feb. 5, 2019. Detailing the developer’s plans for the upcoming year and beyond, they shared details on games and events for the company’s future,
Highlights of the event included:
- A new color of controller, “Sport Red,” was showcased. These controllers will begin shipping on March 5.
- New titles were announced for Xbox Game Pass members, which include: “Shadow of the Tomb Raider,” “Batman: Return to Arkham Collection,” “Telltale’s The Walking Dead Season 1,” “Pumped BMX Pro” and “de Blob.”
- The launch trailer and opening cinematic for “Crackdown 3” were showcased.
- It was revealed D’Vorah will be returning to the roster for “Mortal Kombat 11.”
- “Halo Outpost Discovery” will begin to tour across the country this summer. Bringing objects from the “Halo” universe to life, it will serve as an interactive experience for fans to celebrate the series’ history.
- “Astroneer,” an space survival simulator, will be leaving early access and beome available to play on Feb. 6.
- Joe Neate, “Sea of Thieves” Executive Producer, announced a “Friends Play Free” event, which will allow players to give up to three friends a copy of the game to play until Feb. 13. Neate also teased a massive update to celebrate “Sea of Thieves'” first birthday with more information coming March 20.
- Koji Nakajima, “Jump Force” producer, unveiled the newest additions to the game’s fight roster: Jotaro Kujo and DIO from “Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure.”
- Huw Beynon, head of Deep Silver’s Global Brand Management, talked about how “Metro Exodus” will be different from previous games in the series. Changes will include a larger focus on the main character’s story.
