Look Good Naked: An introduction
Hi everyone! Welcome to “Look Good Naked”. While the title undoubtedly brought you here, it is my hope that the content helps you and makes you stay. Looking good naked is about more than literally looking good naked (though who doesn’t like that?). It’s about being confident and healthy! I’m not going to show you how to base your life around fitness, I’m going to show you how to fit fitness in your life.
Here’s the thing about fitness for college students: it’s time consuming when you already don’t have a lot of that to spare. Programs like Insanity are expensive, it’s easy to get lost in Pinterest workouts and Youtube videos when looking for something that actually works, and there are more opportunities to eat poorly than there are to put something good in your body. Unfortunately, I can’t tell you exactly what to do to look great. What I can do however, is provide you with realistic ways to make yourself and your lifestyle healthier.
Making this realistic means I’m not going to tell you to spend hours a day in the gym, and I would never, and I mean NEVER, say to never touch a french fry or a cookie again. Guilty pleasures are a part of life, and quite frankly the harder you work to resist them, the more you probably end up caving later.
We’re college students. We have virtually no time and pizza/chicken fingers looming at every turn. Sometimes, you’re going to have to exercise self control. Speaking of exercise, that is a necessity to looking your best. I got the name of this blog from a picture that said “Eating well is for looking good with clothes, working out is for looking good without them”. Yes, this is an exercise based blog (though I will provide you quick, cheap, and doable healthy snacks!). If the thought of getting on a treadmill and running makes you cower in fear, you’re not alone. There’s quick 10-minute workouts that can help you see results in addition to fun alternatives like Zumba and hot yoga.
The first thing I’m going to tell you to do is download the app “My Fitness Pal”. I can’t begin to stress how important it is to be conscious of what you’re eating and how much you’re exercising. The best part of this app is it helps you lose weight (or maintain it) in a healthy manner and helps you start understanding what you are putting into your body.
Honestly, the hardest part is getting started. Soon eating healthier will become second-nature and days without exercise will feel weird. Summer is less than 100 days away, and when you can hit the pool or beach feeling confident, I promise these minor changes will be more than worth it.
One last note before I give you the links you’re looking for and end this long introduction for a blog that most would think to be relatively simple: there is no rigid definition to looking “good”. Don’t strive for an exact number on the scale, and don’t you dare be unsatisfied just because you’re not seeing a thigh gap, hip bones, or look just like your friend. This is about being healthy and comfortable in your own skin in a manageable way.
So, let’s get started! After all, there’s no time like the present.
Here’s a link to my personal favorite list of healthy snacks called ‘College Snacking 101‘. This is my favorite 10 minute workout you can easily do in your dorm, the ‘10 minute Victoria’s Secret Body Blast‘. Should you have time to hit the gym, I love this 20 minute elliptical workout. Don’t forget to download My Fitness Pal!
If you can’t wait until next week and want more workout/snack ideas now (props on being ambitious!) visit my newly created ‘Look Good Naked‘ Pinterest board.

What about the noom weight app instead. I’ve tried my fitness pal and wasn’t fond of it.
