Robert Morris University is in a perfect spot. You can get to the city and all of its exciting sights in less than 30 minutes. But, just 15 minutes west of Robert Morris is Beaver County, which also offers lots of fun activities and places to eat and explore without having to enter the big city.

Entertainment
Windmill Ice Cream and Miniature Golf, located at 2142 Brodhead Road in Hopewell, offers miniature golf and ice cream. Don’t miss out on the Haunted Mini Golf in October.
Pinball PA, at 284 Brodhead Road in the Hopewell Shopping Center, offers vintage Pinball machines and video games.
Hopewell Community Park at 2500 Laird Drive offers fishing, hiking trails, and many community events. Check out their Facebook page for more details.
InnerGroove Record Store, located at 1307 Pennsylvania Ave. in Monaca has a variety of vinyls from the early 1900s to present. It’s a great place to stop if you are in the Monaca area.
3rd Street in Beaver has plenty of options for shopping and a bite to eat. Some highlights include Grandpa Joe’s Candy Store, Mario’s Wood-fired Pizza, Waffles Incaffeinated, Union Skate Supplies, Witch Flavor Ice Cream, Kretchmar’s Bakery, and a variety of small shops to visit or just window shop. It is best to make this visit in the afternoon or early evening as some shops close early. Check out the local events on their community Facebook page.
Local Parks, like Raccoon State Park offers a beach for swimming, boat rentals, and trails. Brady’s Run Park offers a skate park, an ice arena, a walking trail, and a variety of hiking trails.
Buttermilk Fall, located at Route 18 and First Ave & Homewood Borough, Beaver Falls 15010, offers a peaceful hike to a beautiful waterfall. You may also want to jump into the small pool at the bottom of the falls.
Pizza
Beaver County has some of the best family-owned pizza shops on this side of the state!
Breezy’s Pizza, located at 2314 Sheffield Road, is an Aliquippa staple. You will crave it constantly after your first slice.
Sal’s Boardwalk Pizza, located at 105 McKinley Road in Chippewa, is a bit of a drive from Robert Morris (about 25 minutes) but it is easy to get to following 376. You will think you are eating pizza on the actual boardwalk and the funnel cake fries are the perfect dessert. If you decide to visit Brady’s Run Park, this is a must.
Yolanda’s Pizza is nestled in 1601 Pennsylvania Ave. in Monaca. As you walk in the door, you’d think you are in your Italian grandma’s kitchen. Don’t forget to order the bruschetta!
Police Station Pizza, located at 1007 Merchant St. in Ambridge, is just 20 minutes from campus. It is a thick crust, crunchy pizza sold by the slice.
Coffee Shops
A’brewed Awakening, located at 2236 Brodhead Road in Hopewell, is a short 15-minute drive from campus. It serves a variety of coffee, teas, smoothies and pastries. It’s a local, quiet coffee shop with free Wi-Fi, perfect for a quiet getaway from the hustle and bustle of campus life.
Old Crow Coffee House, at 1398 Merchant St. in Ambridge, offers a variety of beverages, pastries, and sandwiches. While you are in the area, you can check out Old Economy Village and the beautiful Laughlin library.
Beaver Falls Coffee and Tea Company is located at 3219 4th Ave. in Beaver Falls. This is a Beaver County favorite!
Coffee Beanery is located at 1466 Old Brodhead Road in Monaca. You can enjoy a great cup of Joe and then visit the Penn State Beaver Campus right down the road.
Restaurants
Jerry’s Curb Service, located at 1521 Riverside Drive in Bridgewater, is a must-see. It is like going back to the 1950’s. You sit in your car as a car hop takes your order and delivers it by hanging it on your window. Their specialty is the Dorsey, a double cheeseburger on a roll with a special sauce, but be sure to check out the Steak and Fries with Jerry’s dressing.
Harold’s Inn, located at 2134 Brodhead Rd. in Hopewell, is a 15-minute drive from campus. This family-owned business has been a part of the community since 1960. They are famous for their fried chicken and seasoned taters, but they have an expansive menu, with plenty of items to choose from.
Papa Duke’s, at 3416 Brodhead Road in Aliquippa, offers Beaver County’s best Greek food. Their gyro is unbeatable!
Beaver Bagel Co., at 208 Bridge St. in Bridgewater, is the cutest quaint little bagel shop you will ever visit. It offers homemade bagels made fresh daily, as well as sandwiches and homemade pastries. The courtyard is another excellent place to enjoy a quiet moment.
Hank’s Frozen Custard and Mexican Food, located at 2210 3rd Ave. in New Brighton, is a window stand serving frozen custard and Mexican food. Outside seating is available (open seasonally from March to November).
