With Lenten comes the Friday ritual of the fish fry.

The Moon Township Volunteer Fire Company has held its annual fish fry for approximately 60 years. They offer a variety of menu items ranging from chicken dinners to the more tradition lent meal of a fried fish sandwich.  All of the menu items include fries and their special ‘firehouse coleslaw’.

Fire Chief John Scott describes this community event as “a place for neighbors to come, stay, and spend time with each other.”

The Moon Township Volunteer Fire company includes 45.  In addition to being dedicated volunteers, these firemen also do all of the cooking.

Desserts made by the Moon Township Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary also are sold. These homemade treats include a multitude of items from pies to cookies to cupcakes.

Lenten Fish Fridays are held every Friday during Lent from March 7 to April 18, from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m..  They are held in the Public Safety Building at 1000 Beaver Grade Road.  You can enjoy your meal on site or as takeout. The number for takeout is (412)-262-5006.
