The tour takes place in the fall and into the winter. On December 8th, La Flame will be returning to Pittsburgh for the first time since 2018 for his “Wish You Were Here Tour”. PPG Paints Arena can expect another sold out crowd to rock downtown Pittsburgh this holiday season.
Travis released “Utopia” last month, his first album release since “Astroworld” in 2018. Both albums went number one on the Billboard charts. The album for this tour has been long awaited by many fans, and they showed out for the artist. “Utopia” has been the number one album in the world for four weeks running and just surpassed one billion streams as a whole.
Part of the reason the wait for the album ended up being half a decade was due to the tragedy which occurred at one of his Astroworld concerts in 2021. During said concert, there was a crowd crush which resulted in the death of ten attendees ranging between ages nine through 27. Scott in particular was condemned for his handling of the situation during the concert and in the aftermath. Many were disappointed by his apology video and it was even turned into a meme.
The rapper has been able to bounce back from the event and is back to his previous spot near the top of the music industry. He’s received support from many around the industry and his Utopia album featured many known artists.
The most popular artist in the world, The Weeknd, is coincidentally on the song “Circus Maximus”, the new tour’s namesake. Tickets for the concert go on sale on Thursday at 10 A.M. on Travis Scott’s website, and with his previous history of bringing out surprise artists during concerts the people of Pittsburgh could be in for a fantastic surprise in December.
