The Pittsburgh Mills Mall, which was originally set to go to sheriff sale this past Monday, is no longer up for sale. As of Friday Morning, the Allegheny County Sheriff’s office confirmed that Namdar Realty has paid off all of the overdue payments, just days before the sale.
Namdar Realty, the current owners of the mall, were over $11 million behind in payments and had three lawsuits against them for tax delinquency since 2021. The company had made no motion to make payments before last week, after the announcement of the looming sheriff sale.
Namdar Realty stated they are looking to all future options, whether that be revamping and filling the empty storefronts, or completely reimagining the 1.1 million square foot building.
After years of payment neglect and a lack of improvement, it is hard to tell if Namdar Realty will actually provide a better life for the Pittsburgh Mills Mall. Regardless of the future endeavors, one thing is for certain. The Pittsburgh Mills Mall will remain, for the moment, as it has been under the ownership of Namdar Realty.
