A little before 11 am today (Friday, Dec. 16), RMU Police and Moon Township residents learned that Moon Township Police are investigating a reported, attempted sexual assault on a female RMU student that occurred not far from campus last night (Thursday, Dec. 15) between 6:30 and 7 p.m.
An RMU Crime Alert has gone out to the RMU campus warning the community to be extra cautious and vigilant, as the alleged assailant is still at large at this time.
Police are looking for a white male, dark complexion, last seen wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt and dark baseball cap with the letter “P” on the front.
The victim, a female RMU student who lives in Moon Township, reported to Moon Township Police late last night that she had left the Smoke Stack, located in the 7300 block of University Boulevard, sometime after 6:30 p.m. Thursday and was returning to her car when she was grabbed from the back by an unidentified male. The victim was treated and released from a local hospital.
