MOON TOWNSHIP — A 5K walk and run was held on Robert Morris University’s campus Saturday. The event was held in memory of Dr. Mark Eschenfelder, a beloved economics professor at RMU who recently passed away.
The event was part of an assignment in Dr. Ann Jabro’s Developing, Coordinating, and Executing Events course. The students of the class planned every step of the event, including setting up social media accounts for the event and keeping up with them. When it came for the event, the students and Dr. Jabro were more than ready.
“The students have been learning event planning while they organized this run,” Dr. Jabro said before Saturday’s event. “We’ll have refreshments, raffle prizes and testimonials.”
They had all of the above. Family, friends, and students of Dr. Eschenfelder had the opportunity to say a few words about the professor. Also, walkers and runners had the opportunity to put in for a raffle for tickets to the Steelers game on Dec. 30.
