Report: The best college athletics in Pennsylvania

MOON TOWNSHIP — Niche.com put college sports teams across the state head to head with hopes to determine the best collegiate athletics in Pennsylvania.

The report analyzes factors such as student reviews, statistics, national championships and athletic department revenue to determine the states best school for athletics.

The biggest factor Niche researchers took into consideration was based on student surveys on athletics. Survey responses were scored on a one to five scale regarding the quality of athletics at each school, according to their website.

The top five schools for college athletics are:

  1. Penn State
  2. University of Pittsburgh
  3. Villanova University
  4. Temple University
  5. Bucknell University

Robert Morris University found a spot on the list too, ranking in the 10th position. Niche rated RMU an overall grade of B- but gave the Moon Township school a B+ rating in athletics.
