Given expected winter weather conditions for Monday, the RMU Student Life Facebook page posted Sunday that the bus trip to the men’s second round National Invitational Tournament (NIT) game against Providence, Rhode Island, has been canceled.
This cancelation also means no groups, including the cheerleaders and band, will be traveling to the game either.
According to the RMU Now Twitter account, students were lined up since 4 a.m.on Friday to purchase a seat for $15 on the bus traveling to Providence for the 7 p.m. Monday game.
Any student who purchased a ticket can receive a refund by bringing their ticket to Student Life during its normal operation hours.
Although the bus trip has been canceled, the viewing party at Latitude 40, located at 200 Quinn Drive in Robinson, is still on. The game will be shown on a 28 foot screen with $2 16 ounce Coors and half off select appetizers available for purchase.
Doors open at 5 p.m. for the event.
Anyone who wishes to catch the game from the comfort of their dorm on campus can turn to ESPN, channel 27.
