Flames engulf, destroy car on University Blvd.

MOON TOWNSHIP — A vehicle was destroyed in a fire on University Boulevard Thursday morning.
The fire occurred at the intersection of Moon Clinton Road and University Boulevard at approximately 10 a.m.

A four-door sedan was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived, said Moon Twp. Fire Chief John Scott. Police later identified the vehicle as a Ford Fusion.
A woman and her son were driving on University Boulevard when they noticed the smell of smoke, according to authorities. The woman pulled over and fled from the vehicle with her child.
Officials say that the cause of the fire originated in the engine.
No injuries were reported. Traffic on University Boulevard was limited to a single lane while officials tended to the flames.
