Citizens of Moon Township have been holding their breath for a Chick-fil-A in their community. They don’t have to wait anymore.
The fast-food chain will open its doors Thursday at 6:30 a.m. at 2812 Gracy Center Way, approximately 0.3 miles away from Robert Morris University.
The restaurant joins more than 25 other Chick-fil-A restaurants serving the greater Pittsburgh area.
Chick-fil-A, Inc. announced in a press statement late Wednesday night that they have selected Aimee Hernandez as the independent franchised local Owner-Operator of the location.
Hernandez is also the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Robinson at North Fayette in Pittsburgh, where she will continue to operate in addition to the new restaurant.
“Prior to my career at Chick-fil-A, I asked myself, ‘What do I want my impact on the world to be?’” Hernandez said. “Now, after almost 10 years serving the Pittsburgh and Moon Township communities, I know my purpose in life is to develop leaders and make Guests’ lives better. The opening of Chick-fil-A Moon Township is an important step in this journey, and my hope is that all our Guests feel welcomed and supported when they step inside our new restaurant.”
Hernandez went viral in late 2021 celebrating Christmas with her Team Members in an extravagant way, gifting a Toyota RAV-4, a month’s rent or mortgage payment, a Nintendo Switch, a big screen television, Steelers tickets, a PlayStation 5 or $1,000 cash.
She was also mentioned in an article on the United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania, labeling her as a ‘philanthropist at heart.’
In celebration of Moon Township’s opening, Chick-fil-A, Inc. has donated $25,000 to Feeding America in honor of the new restaurant. These funds will be distributed to partners in the greater Pittsburgh area to aid in the fight against hunger.
The restaurant will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday for dine-in, drive-thru, carry-out, delivery, and ‘Mobile Thru,’ a lane in the drive-thru where customers can pick up orders placed ahead of time on the Chick-fil-A App.
