Liam Payne, a former member of the popular boy band One Direction was found dead at age 31. He was found outside of his hotel room in Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina, where local media reported he had fallen from the hotel’s third floor.
Police were reportedly called to the hotel to respond to “an aggressive man who could be under the influence of drugs and alcohol,” as reported by local newspaper La Nacion and Clarin. Officials later confirmed Payne’s death, reporting he was found in an interior hotel patio.
One Direction rose to fame in 2010 when the boy band merged on the popular British show ‘The X Factor.’ After a highly successful career, the group split in 2015, leaving the five members to start solo careers.
Payne launched his solo career shortly after One Direction’s breakup. His newest song, Teardrops, was released earlier this year. Payne also welcomed a son in 2017 with his then-partner, Cheryl Cole.
