Pie the Greeks meets annual goal
For the second year in a row, RMU fraternity Kappa Delta Rho (KDR) hosted “Pie the Greeks” in the Nicholson cafeteria from 5-7pm Tuesday night. The annual fundraiser allows students to donate money and pie participating Greek Life students from all the fraternities and sororities represented on campus with plates filled with whipped cream.
After amassing over 300 dollars last year, the host fraternity set the bar high, hoping to reach 500 dollars. After a fun night filled with messy hair, sticky faces and high fives, they indeed got to their goal, with 19 cents to boot. 90 cents of every dollar will go towards holding a rave type dance on the Nicholson front lawn, set for April 26th, and named ‘Bobby Glow’. The proceeds from that event will go towards their philanthropy, the Be Positive Fund for Pediatric Cancer.
“It’s a good opportunity for all Greeks to get together and raise money for a good cause,” said sister of Delta Zeta Savannah Hoche.
Throughout the fun and festivities in the packed and raucous cafeteria, the student’s attention was focused almost entirely towards the stage holding the event. The reactions were seemingly all positive.
“It’s fun because it’s raising money for a good cause, and a good way to get messy,” said freshman and sister of Zeta Tau Alpha Adehl Schwaderer.
