March 22, 2019
PITTSBURGH — There have been two more reported flu-related deaths for 2019 in Allegheny County.
The Allegheny County Health Department has been notified that one male in his mid-80s and a female in her late 60s have died due to flu complications over the past month.
This brings the total to eight flu deaths in the county this flu season.
Flu deaths during the 2018-19 flu season have been significantly less, according to the health department’s website.
Although flu numbers have been significantly lower this season, compared to last, the virus is still circulating and residents are encouraged to get their flu shot if they have not done so already.
