8/2/21 – Trouble Alarm – Guardian Protection reported a trouble signal from the Island Sports Complex. RMU Maintenance was notified and was aware it was a malfunction. The alarm was put on hold for repair. This case is closed.

8/3/21 – 911 Hang-Up Call – Allegheny County 911 reported a 911 hang-up call from Athletics. Officers responded to the office and confirmed the call was accidental. No emergency. This case is closed.

8/2/21-8/3/21 – Lost Property – A staff member reported that they lost their campus key. A report was made for the locksmith. This case is closed.

8/4/21 – Welfare Check – A staff member requested a welfare check on a student. Officers contacted the Counseling Center to follow up with the student. This case is closed.

8/5/21 – Gas Leak – Allegheny County 911 reported a gas leak near the Island Sports Complex. It was determined to be off of University property. The gas company and the Neville Fire Department handled the call. This case is closed.

8/5/21 – Traffic Stop – An officer observed a vehicle fail to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Campus Dr. and Massey Way. One citation was issued. This case is closed.

8/5/21 – Departmental Information – There was an equipment malfunction at the Police station. The IT Department responded and fixed the issue. This case is closed.

8/5/21 – Fire Alarm/Smoke Detector Activation – Guardian Protection reported a fire alarm in Salem Hall. RMU Maintenance was notified. Steam from the shower caused the alarm. The fire department was cancelled and the alarm was reset. This case is closed.

8/5/21 – Fire Alarm/Smoke Detector Activation/Student Conduct – A smoke alarm in Salem Hall was activated due to a student smoking in the room. Drug paraphernalia was confiscated. Moon Fire Department was cancelled and the alarm panel was reset. The student was sent through student conduct. This case is closed.

8/6/21 – Traffic Stop – An officer observed a vehicle fail to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Campus Dr. and Massey Way. Two citations were issued. This case is closed.

8/7/21 – Departmental Information – Parkhurst staff reported an item belonging to the Police Department was found on the loading dock of Nicholson. Officers retrieved it and returned to the station. This case is closed.

8/7/21 – Medical Emergency – Athletic staff reported a student at Joe Walton Stadium in need of medical assistance. Valley Ambulance responded and transported the student to the hospital. This case is closed.

8/7/21 – Suspicious Person – While patrolling, an officer noticed a male sleeping in his car in the Wheatley Lot. The male was woken up and identified as an RMU student napping before finishing a project. This case is closed.

8/8/21 – Animal Complaint – Maintenance requested assistance with an injured and ill fawn in the Maintenance garage. The deer was dispatched humanely. This case is closed.

8/9/21 – Traffic Stop – An officer observed a vehicle fail to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Campus Dr. and Massey Way. A verbal warning was given. This case is closed.
