1/12/22: Suspicious Incident: A parent reported their student was being extorted through social media for sending an inappropriate picture. The student was advised to stay off social media and unfollow the individual. The case is closed.

 

1/13/22: Lost Property: An RMU employee dropped off a Visa debit card belonging to a student. The card was logged into Lost and Found. The student was notified and retrieved their card. This case is closed.

 

1/14/22: Traffic Stop: RMU Police were conducting patrols of campus when they noticed an unoccupied vehicle parked on Campus Drive. Officers located the driver who will be cited for having an open container of alcohol in the vehicle. The case is closed.

 

1/14/22: Student Conduct Alcohol: Residence Life reported a noise complaint in Adams Hall. Officers responded along with Res Life staff. Seven students will be sent through student conduct for violating the alcohol policy. This case is closed.

 

1/15/22: Accident Involving Damage-Unattended Vehicle: A student reported watching a vehicle strike another vehicle in the Gazebo lot and leave the scene. Officers responded and identified the vehicle’s owner. All pertinent information was obtained for insurance purposes. The case is closed.

 

1/16/22: Fire Alarm-Smoke Detector Activated: Guardian Protection reported a fire alarm activation in Concord Hall. Officers responded and found the cause to be burnt food. RMU Maintenance was notified. The fire department was canceled. The panel was reset. This case is closed.

 

1/16/22: Departmental Information: Residence Life received a report of students knocking on doors in Yorktown Hall. Cameras were reviewed. This incident was handed over to the Detective. The case is closed.

 

1/16/22: Medical Emergency: RMU Island Sports Center Public Safety Officer was notified about an injured hockey player. Medics were called and the player was transported to the hospital. This case is closed.

 

1/17/22: Fire Alarm-Smoke Detector Activated: Guardian Protection reported a fire alarm activation in Hamilton Hall. Officers responded and found the cause to be a hair straightener. RMU Maintenance was notified. The fire department was canceled. The panel was reset. The case is closed.
