1/25/22: Animal Complaint: RMU Police were notified by students of a dog wandering campus. Moon Dispatch reported a lost Husky in the area. Officers radioed to Moon Dispatch that the dog was spotted on campus. Officers were able to capture the dog until the owners arrived. The case is closed.

 

1/25/22:Departmental Information: Student Services requested information on a former student. This case is closed.

 

1/26/22: Accident Involving Damage- Unattended Vehicle: A student reported damage to their vehicle in the Colonial Way Lot. Officers responded and located the vehicle. All pertinent information was obtained for insurance purposes along with pictures of the damage. The case is closed.

 

1/26/22: Departmental Information: A student reported being tracked by an Apple AirTag after leaving Walmart. Officers checked the vehicle while the student checked their belongings leading to negative results. They were advised to listen for any beeping sounds over the next few days. This case is closed.

 

1/27/22: Suspicious Person: RMU Police observed an individual standing outside the Barry Center. Officers identified the student and assisted their needs. They were transported back to their dorm. The case is closed.

 

1/29/22: Departmental Information: RMU Police received a noise complaint in Salem Hall. Officers responded and made contact with the occupants. They were informed of the quiet hours and they apologized. The music was turned down. This case is closed.

 

1/29/22: Fire Alarm-Smoke Detector Activated: Guardian Protection reported a fire alarm activation in Salem Hall. Officers responded and found the cause to be burnt bacon. RMU Maintenance was notified. The fire department was canceled. The panel was reset. The case is closed.

 

1/29/22: Medical Emergency: An RMU Island Sports Center Public Safety Officer was notified about an injured guest. Medics were refused and the individual was transported to the hospital by a parent. This case is closed.

 

1/30/22: Student Conduct Alcohol: RMU Police received a noise complaint in Marshall Hall. Officers responded and notified Residence Life. Three students will be sent through Student Conduct for violating the alcohol policy. The case is closed.

 

1/30/22: Fire Alarm-Smoke Detector Activated: Guardian Protection reported a fire alarm activation in Salem Hall. Officers responded and found the cause to be a student cooking toast and sausage. RMU Maintenance was notified. The fire department was canceled. The panel was reset. This case is closed.

 

1/30/22: Suspicious Vehicle Check: RMU Maintenance reported a suspicious vehicle parked in the Colonial Village lot. Officers responded and located the vehicle occupied by two individuals. The students were identified and told to return to their dorm. The case is closed.

 

1/31/22: Medical Emergency: An RMU Island Sports Center Public Safety Officer was notified about an injured hockey player. The player was transported to the hospital by their spouse. This case is closed.
