Police Blotter 10/29/13 – 11/11/13
10/29/13 – Medical Emergency – This department was advised of a student experiencing a seizure outside of Hale Center. Valley Ambulance arrived and treated the patient who refused transport to the hospital. (Closed)
10/30/13 – Traffic Stop – An officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation at the Sewall Center loading dock. A verbal warning was issued to the driver. (Closed)
10/30/13 – Theft – An employee reported an item of clothing taken from the locker room outside of the Nicholson kitchen. A report was written and the cameras will be reviewed in an attempt to locate any suspects involved. (Closed)
10/30/13 – Theft – A student reported their phone taken from the third floor women’s room in Hale Center. After reviewing the cameras, a suspect was identified, and the phone was returned to the owner. The student involved will be sent through Judicial Affairs for judgment. (Closed)
11/01/13 – Student Conduct – Officers were called to Adams hall for students drinking underage. All parties involved will be sent through Judicial Affairs for judgment. (Closed)
11/01/13 – Assist Another Agency – This department assisted Coraopolis Police with a homicide in their Borough. Officers assisted without incident. (Closed)
11/01/13 – Student Conduct – Officers were called to Adams Hall for underage drinking. All parties involved were advised that they would be sent through Judicial Affairs for judgment. (Closed)
11/01/13 – Theft – A student reported losing their Freedom card and finding fraudulent charges made. This incident is currently under investigation. (Open)
11/02/13 – Trouble Alarm – This department was advised of a trouble alarm activated in Concord Hall. Upon officers arrival it was determined that the cause for the alarm was burnt food. (Closed)
11/03/13 – Fire Alarm – Guardian reported a fire alarm activated in Joe Walton Stadium. Upon officers arrival the alarm panel notified a smoke detector was activated in the elevator room. The room was checked with negative results and maintenance was notified. (Closed)
11/04/13 – Accident – This department was advised of a minor accident in the parking lot of Yorktown Hall. Officers obtained all pertinent information and a report was written for insurance purposes. (Closed)
11/04/13 – Student conduct – This department was advised of students fighting in Ross Hall. Upon officers arrival it was determined that a verbal argument had occurred between boyfriend and girlfriend. Both parties advised the situation was resolved. (Closed)
11/04/13 – Theft – A student reported a chair taken from a common area in Washington Hall. The cameras will be reviewed in an attempt to locate any suspects involved. (Open)
11/04/13 – Medical Emergency – This department was advised of a student who injured their ankle during volleyball practice at John Jay gym. Valley Ambulance transported the student to Sewickley Hospital for further treatment. (Closed)
11/04/13 – Traffic Stop – An officer conducted a traffic stop at the Sewall Center loading dock for a stop sign violation. A citation was issued for the violation. (Closed)
11/05/13 – Careless Driving – Students came and reported that a white van almost hit them while they were walking to class in Patrick Henry. The driver was identified and will be dealt with accordingly. (Closed)
11/05/13 – Hazardous Conditions – An employee from Parkhurst was stuck in the service elevator at Yorktown Hall. Officers and Maintenance responded and were able to successfully open the elevator. (Closed)
11/07/13 – Departmental Information – This department was advised that a shuttle bus was weaving into the other line of traffic. Officers stopped the shuttle and spoke with the driver, and advised them to be more cautious. (Closed)
11/07/13 – Fire Alarm – his department was advised of a fire alarm activated in Gallatin Hall. Upon officers, arrival it was determined the cause for the alarm was a hair straightener. The alarm was reset and the students were permitted back in the building. (Closed)
11/07/13 – Missing Property – A student reported their laptop missing from the green room in Massey Hall. The cameras will be reviewed in the building in an attempt to locate any suspects involved. (Open)
11/09/13 – Valley Ambulance reported a unit en route to Hale Center for a female passed out. Officers and Valley responded and the female was transported to Sewickley Valley Hospital for treatment. (Closed)
11/09/13 – Burglar Alarm – This department was advised of a burglar alarm activated in the alumni house. Maintenance was leaving the building upon officer’s arrival, and had reset the alarm. (Closed)
11/09/13 – Fire Alarm – Fire alarm activated in Yorktown Hall. Upon officers arrival it was determined that a bag of popcorn was burnt, and set off the alarm. The alarm panel was rest by officers and maintenance. (Closed)
11/10/13 – Disorderly Conduct – While on patrol at the North Atlantic Complex officers could detect an odor of marijuana, and three people walking from the area. A male student was cited for disorderly conduct, and two female non-students were given a verbal trespass warning. (Closed)
11/10/13 – Medical Emergency – A patron at the ISC was injured while playing hockey. Valley Ambulance was contacted and transported the player to Children’s Hospital for further treatment. (Closed)
11/11/13 – Student Conduct – An officer witnessed a pumpkin thrown from the fourth floor of Lexington Hall. All parties involved were advised to clean up the debris and will be sent through Judicial Affairs for judgment. (Closed)
11/11/13 – Medical Emergency – The nurses office reported a male student who was on the verge of passing out. Valley Ambulance was contacted and transported the student to Sewickley Valley Hospital for further treatment. (Closed)
