11/23/21: Fire Alarm-Smoke Detector Activated: A fire alarm was active in Salem Hall. Guardian Protection reported the alarm and officers responded. The case of the alarm was burnt garlic bread. The fire department was canceled. RMU maintenance was informed and the panel was reset. The case is closed.

 

11/23/21: Harassment: A parent notified a Public Service Officer at the RMU Island Sports Center that they were being harassed. Both the parent and the suspect of the harassment completed witness statements. This case is closed.

 

11/23/21: Property Damage: Damage was found and reported by RMU staff on a wall on the outside of the UPMC Event Center. RMU detectives were given the case. They reviewed security footage and found the cause of the damage to be a visiting school equipment vehicle. The case is closed.

 

11/23/21: Departmental Information: A student residing in Concord Hall reported that she found black tape over the peephole on her door. Camera footage outside the door was reviewed by RMU detectives but no suspicious activity or people were found. This case is closed.

 

11/23/21: Fire Alarm-Smoke Detector Activated: A fire alarm was active in Lexington Hall. Guardian Protection reported the alarm and officers responded. The case of the alarm was burnt pizza. The fire department was canceled. RMU maintenance was informed and the panel was reset. The case is closed.

 

11/24/21: Medical Emergency: Medics arrived at the RMU Island Sports Center for a visitor who fell outside of the golf dome. Public Safety Officers at the RMU Island Sports Center were notified of the incident and why medics were there. The visitor was transported to the hospital by the medics. This case is closed.

 

11/27/21: Fire Alarm-Smoke Detector Activated: A fire alarm was active in Washington Hall. Guardian Protection reported the alarm and officers responded. The case of the alarm was not found. The building was checked to ensure that there was no smoke or fire. The fire department was canceled. RMU maintenance was informed and the panel was reset. The case is closed.

 

11/27/21: Welfare Check: A student notified the police that they were not feeling well. They reported that they had not eaten all day because the campus was closed for the holiday. An officer helped the student find food off campus. This case is closed.

 

11/29/21: Medical Emergency: A student called campus police to notify them of an incident in the Hale Center. Medics arrived on scene to evaluate the student who was then transported to the hospital. The case is closed.

 

11/29/21: Disturbance/Loud Music or People: Officers were called to the PNC Cafe by a Parkhurst manager. The manager reported a student was being noncompliant and angry about the mask policy. When officers arrived on scene the student had left. The student was then called and informed of the mask policy. They will be sent through Student Conduct for the violation of the Covid-19 policy on campus.
