Police Blotter 12/05/17-1/09/18

12/05/17 -Suspicious Person- This department was notified of a suspicious male outside of the Nicholson Student Center.  Officers responded and were unable to locate anyone matching the description given.  The caller was advised to notify this department if the male is seen again(closed)

12/05/17 -Theft-A student reported items taken from the laundry room in Ross Hall.  This incident is under investigation.(closed)

12/06/17 -Maintenance Service- While patrolling campus, an officer noticed the Christmas tree at the Gazebo knocked over.  Maintenance was notified.(closed)

12/06/17 -Departmental Information-This department was notified of damage done to a bulletin board in the Wheatley Center.  A report was taken, and the holes were made by artwork.(closed)

12/06/17 -Student Conduct- A student climbed on the roof of a Residence Hall and posted a picture on Social Media. Officers made contact with the student and advised them of the safety concern, and to not climb onto the roof. This incident will be sent to Student Conduct.(closed)

12/07/17 -Departmental Informational-Officers located a male sleeping in the Library.  The student reported having issues with their roommates.  Officers advised the student to speak with Residence Life to see if they can get a room change.(closed)

12/09/17 -Welfare Check-Officers were requested to check campus for a male that left his girlfriend’s apartment and has not returned.  Officers were unable to locate the male.  The male’s mother called and advised that, he had returned to his girlfriend’s room later that morning.(closed)

12/09/17 -Suspicious Incident- Officers were notified that there might be alcohol at an event at Yorktown Hall that is not permitted.  Officers checked the event and advised the group that alcohol is not permitted.(closed)

12/10/17 -Maintenance Service-This department was advised that someone is stuck in the service elevator at the Nicholson Student Center.  Maintenance was able to open the elevator.(closed)

12/11/17 -Disturbance- Officers were called to the Wheatley Center parking lot for two people arguing.  Officers located both parties, and separated them from each other.  Both parties left campus without any further incident.(closed)

12/11/17 -Smell of Marijuana-Residence Life reported an odor of marijuana on the fourth floor of Yorktown Hall.  Officers located the room in question and the occupant was advised that charges would be filed, as well as being sent through Student Conduct.(closed)

12/12/17 -Medical Emergency- Officers were called to the Business School for a male student in need of medical attention.  Valley Ambulance transported the male to Sewickley Valley Hospital for treatment.(closed)

12/13/17 -Maintenance Service- This department along with Maintenance assisted a student who was stuck in a bathroom in Yorktown Hall.(closed)

12/13/17 -Missing Property-A student reported laundry missing was Washington Hall.  Camera footage was reviewed, but met with negative results.(closed)

12/13/17 -Accident- A student reported being involved in an accident on Colonial Way.  Officers were able to locate the other vehicle involved and both parties exchanged their information.  A report was issued for insurance purposes.(closed)

12/14/17 -Lost Property- A student reported losing their cell phone on campus. All pertinent information was obtained and the student was advised they would be notified if the phone is turned into this department.

12/15/17 -Theft- A student reported someone entering their room and removing items.  All pertinent information was obtained and this incident is under investigation.(closed)

12/15/17 -Student Conduct-Residence Life reported finding paraphernalia in a room at Yorktown Hall.  This incident will be handled through Residence Life, for disciplinary actions.(closed)

12/18/17 -Departmental information- Officers were advised of a non-student in Scaife Hall.  Officers responded and stood by until the student left the building. (closed) 

12/19/17 -Assist Another Agency- Moon Township Police requested a female officer for a search of a female prisoner.  An officer assisted without incident.(closed)

12/21/17 -Fire Alarm- Guardian reported a fire alarm activation for the Lafayette Center. Officers responded and found the cause to be burnt food in the microwave.  Maintenance was notified to reset that alarm system.(closed)

12/21/17 -Departmental information- Officers along with Residence Life did a walk through or Yorktown Hall, to verify that certain rooms were unoccupied. (closed)

12/23/17 -Power Outage-Campus sustained a brief power outage, which restored minutes later.(closed)

12/29/17 -Property Damage- A report was taken for minor damage that occurred at the University House.  Repairs were made and the damage was fixed promptly.(closed)

12/30/17 -Departmental Information-A report was taken at the Island Sports Center for a dispute between a player and a referee.(closed)

12/30/17 -Departmental Information-A patron at the Island Sports Center tripped and fell at the front entrance sustaining minor injuries.  An EMT gave medical treatment on scene.(closed)

12/31/17 -Trouble Alarm-Guardian reported a fire alarm activated in Concord Hall.  Officers responded and found the cause to burnt food.  Maintenance was notified to reset the alarm system.(closed)

1/02/18 -Welfare Check-A student reported hearing someone calling for help inside of Yorktown Hall.  Officers located the female, the door was broken to gain entry and free the female who was trapped in the bathroom.(closed)

1/03/18 -Student Conduct-While patrolling Yorktown Hall an officer could detect an odor of marijuana.  The room was located and the student involved will be sent through Student Conduct for their actions.(closed)

1/07/18 -Fire Alarm-Guardian reported a fire alarm activated in Adams Hall.  The cause was found to be from a vape, the residents were advised of the smoking policy.  Maintenance was advised to reset the alarm system.(closed)

1/08/18 -Medical Emergency-This department was notified of a student in need of medical attention in Washington Hall.  Valley Ambulance provided treatment on scene for the student.(closed)

1/08/18 -Trespass Warning-Officers assisted Residence Life in removing a non-student from Yorktown Hall.  This department issued a trespass warning to the non-student.(closed)

1/08/18 -Personal injury-An employee reported slipping and falling outside of the John Jay Center.  The employee refused medical treatment, and just wanted it on record.  Maintenance was called to salt the area where the employee fell.(closed)

1/08/17 -Personal injury-An employee slipped and fell on ice outside of the Facilities building.  The employee was seeking medical attention on their own.  Maintenance salted the walkway around the Facilities building.(closed)
