Police Blotter 1/20/15-1/26/15

1/20/15 – Medical Emergency – This department was called to Hamilton Hall for a female experiencing chest pains.  Valley Ambulance transported the female to Passavant Hospital. (Closed)

1/20/15 – Accident – A report was taken for damage done to a vehicle while parked in the lower John Jay parking lot.  Pictures were taken of the damage and added to the report for insurance purposes. (Closed)

1/20/15 – Lost Property – An employee reported losing their University issued keys.  A report was generated and forwarded to the University locksmith. (Closed)

1/20/15 – Fire Alarm – Guardian reported a fire alarm activated in Concord Hall.  Upon officers arrival the cause for the alarm was burnt food.  Maintenance was advised and reset the alarm. (Closed)

1/21/15 – Traffic Stop – A traffic stop was conducted for a driver failing to stop at a stop sign.  The driver was issued a verbal warning for the violation. (Closed)

1/22/15 – Departmental Information – A request was made for cameras to be reviewed in the Nicholson Center for equipment that was left unattended.  The cameras were reviewed and the equipment was not tampered with. (Closed)

1/22/15 – Trespass Warning – This department along with Residence Life issued a trespass warning to a non-registered student living on campus. (Closed)

1/22/15 – Fire Alarm – An officer found the alarm panel in Concord Hall activated while patrolling the building.  The room in question was checked and the residents reported that the alarm did not activate.  Maintenance was made aware of the alarm and reset the panel. (Closed)

1/22/15 – Fire Alarm – Guardian reported a fire alarm activated in Concord Hall.  Upon officers arrival it was determined that the cause was burnt food.  Maintenance was notified and reset the alarm. (Closed)

1/23/15 – Missing Property – A student reported a package from the mailroom was mistakenly given to the wrong person and requested assistance in getting it back.  The package was returned to the owner. (Closed)

1/23/15 – Departmental Information – Valley Ambulance unit 792 broke down on University Blvd., as the entrance to Yorktown Hall.  An officer stood by until the ambulance was removed by tow truck. (Closed)

1/24/15 – Harassment By Communication – A student wanted a report filed for a phone call they received from an unknown male.  All pertinent information was obtained and a report was issued. (Closed)

1/24/15 – DUI – An officer conducted a traffic stop for a stop sign violation on Campus Drive.  During the stop, the officer could detect an odor of an alcoholic beverage on the driver.  The driver was cited for DUI and four additional charges. (Closed)

1/24/15 – Recovered Property – A white iPhone 5 was turned into an officer at Yorktown Hall.  The phone was brought back to the police department and stored until the owner retrieves it. (Closed)

1/24/15 – Departmental Information – This department was made advised of a water leak on the second floor of Yorktown Hall.  Maintenance was aware and in the process of repairing the leak. (Closed)

1/25/15 – Smell of Marijuana – Residence life reported an odor of marijuana on the fourth floor of Yorktown Hall.  Officers responded and checked the area with negative results. (Closed)

1/26/15 – Accident – This department was advised of a minor accident in the Lower John Jay parking lot.  Both parties information was obtained a report was issued for insurance purposes. (Closed)

1/26/15 – Medical Emergency – Valley Ambulance was contacted for a female with severe abdominal pain at Joe Walton Stadium.  The female was transported to Sewickley Valley Hospital for treatment. (Closed)

1/26/15 – Lost Property – A student reported losing their Samsung Galaxy cell phone either on the shuttle or somewhere in Yorktown Hall.  All necessary information was obtained and the student was advised if the phone were turned in, they would be notified. (Closed)
