From February 7th through the 13th RMU Police wrote fifty-six parking violations. There was one Pennsylvania State Citation written. Three students were sent to Student Conduct and one case was forwarded to the Magistrate’s Office.

2/07/2023

Departmental Information: A student reported falling victim to a phone scam. The student was advised to contact their bank. The case is closed.

Departmental Information: A student reported an unregistered solicitor on campus. RMU Police located the suspect outside the Nicholson Student Center. They were escorted off campus and sent a trespass warning. This case is closed.

Fire Alarm-Smoke Detector Activated: Guardian Protection reported a fire alarm activation in Salem Hall. Officers responded and found the cause to be students cooking dinner. RMU Maintenance was notified. Fire department was canceled. The panel was reset. The case is closed.

Fire Alarm-Smoke Detector Activated: Guardian Protection reported a fire alarm activation in Salem Hall. Officers responded and found the cause to be a student using a hair dryer. RMU Maintenance was notified. Fire department was canceled. The panel was reset. This case is closed.

Missing Property: A Parkhurst manager reported a jacket missing from the Yorktown Café. A RMU Detective was able to review the cameras and identify a suspect. The jacket was returned. The case is closed.

Medical Emergency: A RMU Island Sports Center Public Safety Officer was notified of an injured juvenile during a public skate. The patient was transported to the hospital by their parents. This case is closed.

2/09/2023

Departmental Information: On January 31st, the Career Center staff reported suspicious business trying to register with Handshake. It was determined the business was fraudulent. RMU Police sent the owner a trespass warning on February 9th. The case is closed.

Medical Emergency: Residence Life reported a medical emergency in Washington Hall. Officers responded and requested medics evaluate the student. One student was cited for underage drinking and will be sent through Student Conduct for violating the alcohol policy. This case is closed.

2/10/2023

Departmental Information: A RMU Island Sports Center Public Safety Officer was informed about a physical altercation between juveniles during a public skate. One juvenile was located who stated they were being bullied. The parent was notified about this incident. The case is closed.

Disturbance/Loud Music or People: An anonymous caller reported a possible party in Salem Hall. RMU Police responded and notified Residence Life. Two students will be sent through Student Conduct for violating the alcohol policy. This case is closed.

Property Damage: RMU Maintenance reported damage to the Bobby Mobile parked outside the Nicholson Student Center. RMU Police reviewed the cameras and located the driver. The driver was contacted and admitted to wrecking the vehicle. The case is closed.

2/12/2023

Welfare Check: A student requested a welfare check on a student in Concord Hall. RMU Police responded and notified Residence Life. Medics were requested and transported the student to the hospital. This case is closed.

Lost Property: Residence Life reported missing clothes from the laundry room in Yorktown Hall on February 11th. On the 12th, the student reported they found laundry. The case is closed.

2/13/2023

Departmental Information: A RMU faculty member reported they lost their office key. The incident was documented. This case is closed.

Welfare Check: A student requested a welfare check on a fellow student. Residence Life was contacted and spoke to the student’s roommate. The student in question had just left for class. The case is closed.
