Police Blotter 3/1/16-3/14/16

3/1/16 – Fire Alarm – Guardian reported a fire alarm activated in the Joe Walton Stadium.  Officers responded and found candles burning on the second floor.  Maintenance was notified and the alarm system was reset. (Closed)

3/1/16 – Smell of Marijuana – Residence life reported a smell of marijuana on the 6h floor of Yorktown Hall.  Officer located the room in question and advised the student involved that they would be sent through Student Conduct for their actions. (Closed)

3/2/16 – Lost Property – A maintenance cleaner reported a keyboard missing from the ATI Center in the Business School.  The cameras are being reviewed, and this incident is under investigation at this time. (Open)

3/1/16 – Trespass Warning – Residence Life reported a non-student living in Yorktown Hall.  This department assisted in having the non-student removed and issued them a trespass warning. (Closed)

3/2/16 – Medical Emergency – This department was requested to transport a student for a medical evaluation.  The student was transported to Sewickley Valley Hospital without incident. (Closed)

3/2/16 – Trouble Alarm – Guardian reported a trouble alarm activated in Lexington Hall.  Upon officers arrival it was determined that the alarm was activated from the residents cooking.  Maintenance was notified and the alarm system was reset. (Closed)

3/2/16 – Departmental Information – Residence Life reported a commuter student living in Lexington Hall.  Officers stood by while Residence Life advised the student of their options if they want to continue living on campus. (Closed)

3/2/16 – Harassment – A student reported an ongoing harassment situation, with another student.  All pertinent information was obtained and this incident is currently under investigation. (Open)

3/3/16 – Missing Property – A student called and reported their cell phone missing from a laundry room in Yorktown Hall.  An officer checked the cameras, located the cell phone, and notified the student. (Closed)

3/3/16 – Disturbance – Officers received a noise complaint for the 5th floor of Concord Hall.  The area was checked with negative results. (Closed)

3/4/16 – Student Conduct – Officers were called to Gallatin Hall for a smell of marijuana.  Officers were able to locate the room in question, and advised the occupants they would be sent through Student Conduct for their actions. (Closed)

3/4/16 – Assist Another Agency – This department is assisting the Allegheny County Police Department with an Investigation. (Closed)

3/4/16 – Traffic Stop – While on patrol and officer located a disabled vehicle at the entrance to campus.  Officers assisted with traffic, until a tow truck arrived to remove the vehicle. (Closed)

3/4/16 – Smell of Marijuana – This department received an anonymous tip of a smell of marijuana in Washington Hall B Tower.  Officers checked the room in question and met with negative results. (Closed)

3/5/16 – Medical Emergency – This department was notified of a highly intoxicated student in Hamilton Hall.  Officers located the student and notified Valley Ambulance for a transport to Sewickley Valley Hospital.  The student was transported to the hospital and issued a citation for underage drinking. (Closed)

3/5/16 – Trouble Alarm – Guardian reported a trouble signal activated in Washington Hall.  Maintenance was contacted and advised of the alarm activation. (Closed)

3/5/16 – Assist Another Agency – An officer assisted with a call Moon Twp. Police received of a female needing assistance by Yorktown Hall. (Closed)

3/6/16 – Trouble Alarm – Guardian reported a trouble alarm activated in Washington Hall.  Maintenance was made aware of the alarm activation. (Closed)

3/6/16 – Medical Emergency – A patron at the ISC was injured while playing hockey.  The mother was on scene and requested an ambulance check out her son.  Valley Ambulance checked out the patient, and the mother signed a refusal form advising she would take him to Children’s Hospital on her own. (Closed)

3/6/16 – Trouble Alarm – Guardian reported a trouble alarm activated in Washington Hall.  Maintenance was made aware of the alarm activation. (Closed)

3/8/16 – Theft – A student reported an item taken from the locker room in Jefferson Center.  All pertinent information was obtained and this incident is under investigation. (Open)

3/9/16 – Property Damage – This department was advised of damage done to the Mini Golf course at the Island Sports Center.  Pictures were taken of the damage and added to the report. (Closed)

3/10/16 – Property Damage – A parent reported damage done to their son’s car while parked on campus.  A report was issued for insurance purposes and pictures will be added once they are received from the victim. (Closed)

3/10/16 – Departmental Information – A student reported someone entered their room while they were gone.  Nothing was reported missing from the room, but it did appear as if someone was inside.  The cameras were reviewed and showed maintenance enter the room during room checks.  Nothing further. (Closed)

3/10/16 – Departmental Information – Diebold Security reported an ATM alarm at Yorktown Hall.  Officers checked the ATM and found everything to be working properly. (Closed)

3/12/16 – Assist Another Agency – This department received a BOLO for two missing juveniles possibly heading to Neville Twp.  Officers responded to the ISC to check for the juveniles.  While there, another BOLO came out saying the juveniles were located. (Closed)

3/14/16 – Missing Property – Parkhurst employees reported a set of keys missing.  A report was issued and will be forwarded to the University Locksmith. (Closed)

3/14/16 – Departmental Information – A student wanted a report on file in reference to a situation with an ex-boyfriend, whom might be in the area this coming week.  A report was issued for information purposes at this time. (Closed)

3/14/16 – Fire Alarm – Guardian reported a smoke detector activated in Salem Hall.  Officers responded and found the alarm panel reading normal.  Maintenance was notified of the alarm call. (Closed)
