Police Blotter 4/11/16 – 4/25/16

04/11/16 – Traffic Stop – An officer conducted a traffic stop on Colonial Way. The driver received on citation at the conclusion of the stop. (Closed)

04/11/16 – Medical Emergency – This department was notified of student in need of medical attention at Yorktown Hall. Valley Ambulance was contacted and transported the student to Sewickley Valley Hospital for treatment.

04/12/16 – Disturbance – Officers were called to Hale Center for a disruptive student. The student was not permitted to attend class at the Professor’s request. The student left the building without incident. (Closed)

04/12/16 – Traffic Stop – An officer conducted a traffic stop on Campus Drive. The driver was

given a verbal warning at the conclusion of the stop. (Closed)

04/12/16 – Student Conduct – This department was notified of a harassment situation between neighbors in Yorktown Hall. Both parties were advised to cease all contact and avoid each other for the remainder of the school year. (Closed)

04/12/16 – Accident – A student reported damage done to their vehicle while parked outside of Marshall Hall. All pertinent information was obtained, and a report was filed for insurance purposes. (Closed)

04/12/16 – Fire Alarm – Guardian reported a fire alarm activated in Concord Hall. Upon Officers arrival it was determined the cause was burnt food. Maintenance was notified to reset the alarm panel. (Closed)

04/13/16 – Medical Emergency – During Greek Week basketball, a student suffered a dislocated right shoulder. The student did not want medical attention and advised he will go on his own with a friend. (Closed)

04/14/16 – Fire Alarm – Guardian protection reported a trouble signal in Washington Hall. Officers responded along with Maintenance, and found no cause for the activation. Maintenance is going to have the system checked. (Closed)

04/14/16 – Accident – This department was notified of a minor accident in the Yorktown Parking lot. All pertinent information was obtained and a report was issued for insurance purposes. (Closed)

04/14/16 – Accident – A student reported damage done to their vehicle from a transformer that blew on Campus Drive and University Blvd. Pictures were taken of the damage and a report was issued for insurance purposes. (Closed)

04/15/16 – Medical Emergency – A patron at the Island Sports Center was struck in the face with a hockey puck. Valley Ambulance transported the patient to Allegheny General Hospital for treatment. (Closed)

04/15/16 – Smell Of Marijuana – This department was advised of an odor of marijuana in Lexington Hall. Officers responded and checked the building with negative results. (Closed)

04/15/16 – Suspicious Person – Officers were called to Hancock Hall for a report of a suspicious male. Officers located the male in question, who was a guest of one of the residents. (Closed)

04/16/16 – Assist Another Agency- Moon Police requested officers check campus for a vehicle with recent damage. Officers checked campus with negative results. (Closed)

04/16/16 – Underage Closed- Drinking Officers were called to Lexington Hall for an intoxicated male. The male was located, issued three citations, and lodged at Coraopolis PD until sober. (Closed)

04/17/16 – Assist Another Agency- Moon Police requested information on a student pertaining to an investigation they are conducting. All necessary information was relayed. (Closed)

04/17/16 – Traffic Stop – An officer conducted a traffic stop on Amherst Avenue. The driver was issued a verbal warning and released. (Closed)

04/17/16 – Found Property – A book bag was found in the Nicholson Student Center. The owner was notified and advised it can be picked up at the Police Department. (Closed)

04/17/16 – Lost Property – A report was made for lost University issued keys. A report was issued and forwarded to the university locksmith. (Closed)

04/17/16 – Departmental Information – This department received a complaint of no available CA parking spaces. Officers issued tickets to the vehicles that do not belong. (Closed)

04/18/16 – Lost Property – A student requested a report issued for a lost external hard drive. The information was obtained and a report was issued. (Closed)

04/18/16 – Found Property – A walk in complainant turned in a set of keys they found in Patrick

Henry Center. The keys were entered into lost and found until the owner claims them. (Closed)

04/19/16 – Student Conduct – While locking up Sewall Center an officer escorted all non-athletes out of the gym. (Closed)

04/19/16 – Trouble Alarm – Guardian reported a trouble alarm activated in Lexington Hall. An officer and maintenance responded, finding the stove left on in the apartment. The stove was shut off and the alarm was reset. (Closed)

04/15/16 – Departmental Information – A student reported items taken while they were in Romo’s Café. All pertinent information was obtained and this incident is under investigation. (Open)

 

04/20/16 – Accident – This department was notified of a motor vehicle accident in the parking lot for Scaife Hall. All necessary information was obtained and a report was issued for insurance purposes. (Closed)

04/20/16 – Access Device Fraud – A student reported fraudulent charges made on their credit card. This incident is currently under investigation. (Open)

04/21/16 – Departmental Information – This department was notified of an ATV in the woods behind Massey Hall, running people off the trail. Officers checked the area, but were unable to locate the ATV. (Closed)

04/23/16 – Found Property – A shuttle driver dropped off an item that was left behind. The owner was notified and retrieved their belonging. (Closed)

04/23/16 – Student Conduct – An officer conducted a traffic stop off campus, for a non-working brake light. During the stop the passenger was found to be under the age of twenty-one and consumed alcohol. The passenger will be sent through Student Conduct for an alcohol violation. (Closed)

04/23/16 – Underage Drinking – A student was found to be highly intoxicated. The student received two citations, and was transported to Sewickley Hospital by Valley Ambulance for treatment, due to the high level of intoxication. (Closed)
