Police Blotter: 5/25/21 – 5/31/21

5/26/21 – Suspicious Person – RMU Island Sports Center staff reported a suspicious male in the building. Officers arrived and spoke with two juveniles who had a previous incident with the male at their residence. They filled out Voluntary Statement Forms and were told to call Ohio Township Police if this man continues to bother them. This case is closed.

5/26/21 – Fire Alarm/Smoke Detector Activated – Guardian Protection reported a fire alarm activation in Salem Hall. Officers responded and found the cause to be steam from the shower. RMU Maintenance was notified. The fire department was cancelled. The panel was reset and the case is closed.

5/26/21 – Fire Alarm/Spoke Detector Activated – Guardian Protection reported a fire alarm activation in Salem Hall. Officers responded and found the cause to be burnt food. RMU Maintenance was notified. The fire department was cancelled. The panel was reset and the case is closed.

5/26/21 – Medical Emergency – RMU Officers were called to Joe Walton Stadium for a high school lacrosse player. Valley medics arrived on scene and transported the player to the hospital. This case is closed.

5/27/21 – Suspicious Person – RMU Police noticed a suspicious male taking pictures of campus. Officers viewed this male walk away then started running down Colonial Way. He was identified as an Alumni who was surprised how much campus has changed and grown over the years. This case is closed.

5/28/21 – Suspicious Incident – A student called to report an animal trapped in a cage near the Business School. Officers responded and viewed a ground hog in an animal trap. RMU Maintenance was notified and said an outside company had traps on campus. This case is closed.
