Police Blotter 8/26/14-9/01/14

8/26/14 – Fire Alarm – Guardian reported a fire alarm activated in the Nicholson Student Center.  The building was checked with negative results, and the alarm was reset. (Closed)

8/26/14 – Fire Alarm – Guardian reported a fire alarm activated in Yorktown hall.  The cause for the alarm was an outside air handler.  Maintenance was on scene and addressed the issue. (Closed)

8/26/14 – Fire Alarm – Guardian reported a fire alarm activated in Concord hall.  Upon officers arrival it was determined that the cause for the alarm was steam from the shower. (Closed)

8/26/14 – Departmental Information – a student wanted a record on file pertaining to a personal matter.  The information was obtained and a report was issued. (Closed)

8/26/14 – Trouble Alarm – Guardian reported a trouble alarm activated in Adams hall.  The alarm was showing “UDACT”, and maintenance was notified to handle the alarm. (Closed)

8/26/14 – Found Property – A student turned in a diamond engagement ring that was found in the second floor restroom of Hale Center.  The ring was placed into an evidence locker for safekeeping until the owner retrieves it. (Closed)

8/27/14 – Accident – A vehicle lost its brakes going down campus drive and drove up onto the hillside to stop.  The vehicle was towed by Garzonnys and taken to their garage.  No damage was done to the vehicle or University property during this incident. (Closed)

8/27/14 – Fire Alarm – Guardian reported a fire alarm activated in Concord hall.   Upon officers arrival it was determined that the cause was burnt food.  The alarm panel was reset by the officers. (Closed)

8/27/14 – Fire Alarm – Guardian reported a fire alarm activated in Yorktown hall.  Upon officers arrival it was determined that a brief power outage had occurred and was the cause for the alarm. (Closed)

8/28/14 – Medical Emergency – This department was advised of a female student in Lexington hall complaining of severe pain.  Valley Ambulance was notified and transported the student to Sewickley Hospital for treatment. (Closed)

8/28/14 – Fire Alarm – Guardian reported a fire alarm activated in Concord hall.  Upon officers arrival the cause for the alarm was steam from the shower.  Officers notified maintenance and reset the alarm. (Closed)

8/28/14 – Trouble Alarm – A student in Concord hall reported setting off the smoke detector while cooking.  Maintenance was notified and the alarm panel was reset. (Closed)

8/28/14 – Accident – A minor accident was reported on Campus Drive.  Officers responded and took all necessary information and a report was issued for insurance purposes. (Closed)

8/28/14 – Underage Drinking – This department was advised of an intoxicated female at Yorktown hall.  Valley Ambulance was contacted due to the severity and transported the female to Sewickley Valley Hospital.  A citation was issued to the female for underage drinking. (Closed)

8/28/14 – Public Drunkenness – This department was advised of an intoxicated male in Yorktown hall.  Officers responded and found the male in question who was not impaired, but did admit to drinking.  Both males present in the room were advised they would be sent through Judicial Affairs for judgment. (Closed)

8/28/14 – Student Conduct – This department was called to Gallatin hall for a noise complaint.  Upon officers arrival the residents of the room had alcohol present in the room.  Officers advised all parties involved that they would be sent through Judicial Affairs for judgment. (Closed)

8/28/14 – Fire Alarm – Guardian reported a fire alarm activated in Braddock hall.  Officers arrived and determined the alarm to be a false activation.  Maintenance was notified and the alarm panel was reset. (Closed)

8/29/14 – Lost Property – A student called and reported their back pack missing from Romo’s Café’.  All pertinent information was obtained and the student will be notified if the backpack is returned. (Closed)

8/29/14 – Accident – Two students were parked outside of Concord hall looking at damage to one of their vehicles.  The owner of the damaged vehicle reported hitting someone/something but was unsure whom.  All pertinent information was obtained and a report was filed. (Closed)

8/29/14 – Departmental Information – A juvenile struck another juvenile while at public skate at the ISC.  Both parties were spoken to and no one wished to pursue charges on each other.  A report was written and both parties were advised to have no further contact. (Closed)

8/30/14 – Fire Alarm – Guardian reported fire alarm activation in Concord hall.  Upon officers arrival it was determined the alarm was a false activation. (Closed)

8/31/14 – Smell of Marijuana – While on patrol at Yorktown hall, an officer detected an odor of marijuana.  The officer checked the floors with negative results. (Closed)

8/31/14 – Departmental Information –   Residence life reported someone moving furniture in the 400 section of Washington hall.  The cameras were checked and the furniture was moved by residents, residence life would handle the incident from here. (Closed)

9/01/14 – Student Conduct – Residence life reported a loud party in Washington hall.  Upon officers, arrival to the room there was alcohol present.  All parties were cooperative and advised that this incident will be sent through Judicial Affairs for judgment. (Closed)

9/01/14 – Departmental Information – An EST (Maintenance cleaner) wanted a report on file for the way they were spoken too by another maintenance employee.  A report was written. (Closed)

9/01/14 – Disturbance – Residence life reported a noise complaint on the 10th floor of Yorktown hall.  Officers spoke to the resident and advised them to turn the music down.  The resident complied and officers cleared. (Closed)
