Police Blotter 9/04/18-9/18/18

9/04/18- Fire Alarm- Guardian reported a fire alarm activated in Concord Hall.  Officers and Maintenance responded and found the alarm to be caused by a faulty smoke detector.  Maintenance reset the alarm system. (closed)

9/04/18- Downed Wires- A wire was pulled down from the Barry Center by a box truck that drove through the parking lot.  The line was secured by maintenance and found to be a line that was no longer in use. (closed)

9/04/18- Fire Alarm-  Residence Life reported a fire alarm activated in Marshall Hall.  Upon arrival, it was determined that the alarm was active in “drill” mode.  The system was reset, and maintenance was advised of the malfunction. (closed)

9/04/18- Accident- A student reported damage done to their vehicle by a Charter bus in the parking lot of the Student Rec Center.  All pertinent information was obtained and a report was issued for insurance purposes. (closed)

9/05/18- Missing Person- This department was advised of a missing elderly man on campus.  Officers began looking for the male and were advised he was located and safe. (closed)

9/08/18- Accident- A student reported backing into a light pole at the Student Rec Center.  A report was issued, and submitted for insurance purposes. (closed)

9/08/18- Smell of Marijuana- Residence Life reported an odor of marijuana in Washington Hall.  Officers checked the building with negative results. (closed)

9/08/18- Theft- A student reported an umbrella taken from outside of their room in Washington Hall.  This incident is under investigation. (open)

9/09/18- Maintenance Service Requested- This department was advised of the ceiling leaking on the fourth floor of the Nicholson Student Center.  Maintenance was notified. (closed)

9/09/18- Student Conduct Drugs- An officer located multiple students smoking marijuana in a vehicle outside of Yorktown Hall.  All parties involved were advised they would be sent through Student Conduct for their actions. (closed)

9/10/18- Student Conduct Drugs- Residence Life reported a smell of marijuana at Monroe Hall.  All parties involved were advised they would go through Student Conduct for their actions. (closed)

9/11/18- Found Property- An employee dropped off a wallet that was left behind at Romo’s.  The owner was contacted and retrieved their wallet. (closed)

9/12/18- Accident- This department was notified of an accident in the Wheatley Parking lot.  All pertinent information was obtained, and a report was issued for insurance purposes. (closed)

9/13/18- Departmental Information- An employee wanted a report on file for a harassment situation that is occurring outside of work.  All pertinent details were obtained and a report was issued for information purposes. (closed)

9/13/18- Underage Drinking- Officers were called to Marshall Hall for an intoxicated male.  Valley Ambulance transported the male to Sewickley Valley Hospital.  One citation was issued. (closed)

9/14/18- Fire Alarm- Guardian reported a fire alarm activated in Salem Hall. The cause for the alarm was found to be steam from the shower.  Maintenance was notified to reset the alarm system. (closed)
