Police Blotter: August 28 – September 3, 2013
8/28 – Disorderly Conduct – This department was advised of a smell of marijuana in Hamilton Hall. Officers responded to the room in question finding suspected marijuana and paraphernalia. All parties involved were cited for disorderly conduct as well as Judicial Affairs. (Closed)
8/28 – Theft – A resident student came in and reported her freedom card missing and possibly stolen. A report was taken and the student was advised to notify this department if any charges were made on her card. (Closed)
8/28 – Fire Alarm – Guardian reported a fire alarm activated in Concord Hall. Upon officers arrival it was determined the cause was burnt food. (Closed)
8/28 – Welfare Check – A concerned parent called and requested this department check on their son. The son was located by officers and advised to contact his parents. (Closed)
8/29 – Underage Drinking – Residence Life reported an odor of alcohol coming from a room in Madison Hall. All parties involved were under the age of twenty-one and will be issued citations, and sent through Judicial Affairs. (Closed)
8/30 – Underage Drinking – While on patrol and officer viewed a female student having trouble walking. When approached a strong odor of alcohol was coming from their person. The female was cited for Underage Drinking, and Public Drunkenness. (Closed)
8/30 – Medical Emergency – Valley Ambulance reported they had a unit en route to campus for a 16-year-old female with difficulty breathing. The parents of the female were notified and Valley Ambulance transported her to Sewickley Hospital. (Closed)
8/30 – Student Conduct – Residence Life reported a large party in Washington Hall. Officers responded and all parties involved were advised they would be dealt through Judicial Affairs. (Closed)
8/30 – Fire Alarm – Guardian reported a fire alarm activated in Concord Hall. Upon officers arrival the residents reported that the alarm keeps going off for no reason. Maintenance was advised of the problem alarm. (Closed)
8/31 – Driving Under the Influence – An officer viewed a vehicle run a stop sign on Campus Drive at a high rate of speed. When the vehicle was stopped, the driver was asked if he was drinking, which he replied yes. A field sobriety test was given and the driver was cited for a DUI. (Closed)
9/01 – Fire Alarm – Guardian advised of a fire alarm activated in Lexington Hall. Upon officers arrival it was determined the cause was burnt oil. No sign of fire but a light haze of smoke was in the room. Officers reset the alarm panel and cleared. (Closed)
9/03 – Trouble Alarm – Guardian reported a trouble alarm activated in Lexington Hall. Officers checked the rooms, which were activated and met with negative results. The alarm was reset by the officers. (Closed)
