Robert Morris University’s Chief of Police, Jeff James announced through email Friday, Oct 18, that parking fines will be forgiven. However, to have your fines forgiven, you must donate canned or boxed goods and have money deducted from your fines. The donated food will benefit the Colonial Cupboard.
“Starting now and continuing through November 22nd, if you bring any of the items listed below to the police station, the corresponding amount will be deducted from your parking fines. For example, if you donate four canned goods and one cake mix, you will get $25.00 off of your parking fines. “ Chief James Stated
This drive was started to help combat food security issues within the school community. Students can pay off their fines and give back to their school community.
Items that are donated need to be intact and not expired. Once the donation is made you will be given a receipt that shows how much money will be deducted from your parking tickets.
