Robert Morris University increases tuition for 2018-2019 academic year
March 26, 2018
Robert Morris University sent out an email announcing the tuition increases for the 2018-2019 school year.
In the email, RMU’s board of trustees announced a 2.7 percent increase to tuition, citing “a high-quality experience that will help you succeed in the classroom and in your careers. This year, for example, we launched the Colonial Guide mobile app, which provides personalized information to help keep you on track for graduation.”
The increase will raise the standard tuition rate at Robert Morris to $30,250, and standard room and board will be increased to $11,400. The increase adds $880 to the standard tuition and $220 to the standard room and board costs.
The email says that the 2.7 increase is the smallest tuition increase in several years. Last year Robert Morris raised tuition by 3.7 percent. For the 2016-2017 academic year, RMU’s tuition raised 3.99 percent, and 3.65 percent the year before that.
In the email, Robert Morris cited fundraising as one of the ways that they have worked to make tuition more affordable.
“RMU also continues to improve the student experience and make an RMU degree more affordable through fundraising, and last year we set a new record for dollars raised. We invest these gifts in providing more financial aid to students, enhancing the classroom experience and student life, and building new facilities. Construction on the UPMC Events Center is well underway, and we opened the new Student Recreation and Fitness Center in October.”
RMU reminds students to visit Financial Aid as planning begins for 2018-2019 academic year to inquire about financial aid, loans and tuition payment plans.
