The newly renamed Rockwell School of Business is set to host the first-ever Bobby-Thon on April 15, 2023.

Bobby-Thon is expected to be a campus-wide event supporting many different philanthropies which have yet to be announced. It’s also expected to be a fun-filled, all-night 12-hour dance marathon. Funds to be raised by the participants which include RMU students, staff, faculty and alumni.

The Rockwell School of Business is looking for students to help plan and put together this new campus event. There are four committees that interested students can join.

The operations committee focuses on event production, the registration process, and fundraising management. The marketing committee will work on public relations, social media, and campus outreach. The partnerships sales committee will help with asking for in-kind and monetary donations, working with local companies, research, connections, and sales. The last committee, the finance committee, will work with numbers and budgeting.

Students on the committees will meet virtually every two weeks and depending on the position, students will need to commit one to five hours a week. More commitment will be needed as the event nears.

If any of these committees interest students, getting involved comes with benefits. Committee members will get free admission to Bobby-Thon and all-access to everything involved with the event. Students will also receive SET credit for their efforts towards the event alongside leadership and real-world application experience.

Interested students can find the sign-up form for a committee in their RMU email. More information on Bobby-Thon will be available as the event nears.
