The next president of the United States is expected to appoint up to three new Supreme Court justices, a move that can have big implications for the country as a number of controversial issues are expected to come before the court.
They range from healthcare to the abortion debate, immigration, and campaign finance reform.
Since appointment to the Supreme Court is a lifetime position, the appointment of liberal or conservative justices will determine laws that could shape our nation for decades to come.
Associate Professor of Political Science at Robert Morris University, Philip J. Harold said this is an important election issue because even one more conservative justice could vastly change the landscape of future Supreme Court rulings.
