Pittsburgh Public Safety has said that a SWAT presence formed within the neighborhood of South Oakland on October 30th.
The situation has developed on the 3700 block of Child’s Street. Authorities have reported that the suspect is a barricaded man who is possibly armed with a firearm. A large police presence has developed as a result.
As of now, the University of Pittsburgh has sent out a safety alert to students to avoid the area, but the university is still operating as usual.
Due to the lasting police presence, authorities have just announced that Swinburne Street is closed from Dawson Street to the Swinburne Bridge. Additionally, Parkview Avenue is closed from Boulevard of the Allies.
