Thursday evening, SWAT officers arrested a homicide suspect in McKeesport.
Allegheny County Police identified the suspect as Edwin Wiley-Biggs, 42, and said he is connected to the Aug. 25th shooting of Victor Musgrove, who owned the VIP Styles barber shop in downtown Pittsburgh.
“They developed enough information to get an arrest warrant in the last couple of days, and we had our detective that’s on the Marshals’ fugitive task force tracking him since that time, and they were able to track them to this residence today,” County Police Superintendent Chris Kearns said
William Marshall a friend of Musgrove spoke of the effect the shooting had on the community.
“You just didn’t take one soul. You impacted the whole city of Pittsburgh… He gave back to his community, so you couldn’t find somebody that will say something negative about him,” Marshall said.
According to the police, the SWAT team was called after Wiley-Biggs refused to come out of a home on Strawberry Way in McKeesport.
Wiley-Biggs did surrender and was immediately taken to the county jail. The police said he is awaiting arraignment on a charge of criminal homicide.
Wiley-Biggs pleaded guilty to possession with intent to deliver in 2003 and was currently on state parole. Investigators have not identified a motive in this deadly shooting.
