Mexican journalist and ufologist, Jaime Maussan, presented what he claimed to be two non-human alien corpses in front of Mexico’s Congress on Tuesday. The out-of-this-world presentation proved to be the highlight of Mexico’s first congressional hearing on UFOs.
The hearing was held to debate the language used on UAPs/UFOs in Mexico’s Aerial Space Protection Law. If the wording is approved, then Mexico will become the first nation to formally acknowledge the existence of alien life visiting Earth.
The alleged alien remains were presented in boxes and are rumored to be 1,000 years old according to carbon dating conducted by Mexico’s National Autonomous University. Maussan told Mexican lawmakers that the bodies were recovered in mines in Cusco, Peru in 2017. Cusco is near the iconic Nazca Lines which have long been a topic of fascination among ancient astronaut theorists.
“I think there is a clear demonstration that what we are dealing with non-human specimens that are not related to any other species in our world and that all possibilities are open for any scientific institution to investigate it. We are not alone,” Maussan said.
The National Autonomous University’s tests also revealed that 30% of the DNA of the mysterious remains is unknown. Maussan said that this indicates they are not a part of our terrestrial evolution.
Jose de Jesus Zalce Benítez, the director of the Scientific Institute for Health of the Mexican Navy, said that they conducted x-rays, 3-D reconstruction, and DNA analysis on the remains. He also believes that the bodies have no relation to human beings.
The hearings have attracted scorn from skeptics because Maussan previously presented a body that he thought was extraterrestrial, but it turned out to be the remains of a mummified child with a head deformity. Some scientists also believe that the presentation should not have been made until a peer-reviewed paper is published.
Ryan Graves who testified in front of the US Congressional Hearing on UFOs, was also not convinced. “After the US Congressional UFO Hearing, I accepted an invitation to testify before the Mexican Congress hoping to keep up the momentum of government interest in pilot experiences with UAP. Unfortunately, yesterday’s demonstration was a huge step backward for this issue… I will continue to raise awareness of UAP as an urgent matter of aerospace safety, national security, and science but I am deeply disappointed by the unsubstantiated stunt,” Graves wrote on Twitter.
Only time will tell whether or not these findings will be substantiated or debunked.
