Sudiksha Konanki, a 20-year-old student from the University of Pittsburgh, is currently missing in the Dominican Republic.
Konanki is a resident of Loudoun County, Virginia, and a junior at the University of Pittsburgh, studying biological sciences and chemistry on the pre-med track.
Sudiksha Konanki went missing last week while vacationing in the Dominican Republic for spring break. She was last seen on surveillance footage on Thursday, March 6th, at around 4:00 a.m. She was seen leaving her hotel with a group and was reported missing later that day. There is currently a person of interest in her disappearance.
Joshua Riibe, a 22-year-old from Iowa, was the last person to see Sudiksha alive. He has been questioned by authorities, and it has been stressed that this is not a criminal investigation and Riibe is not a suspect in the disappearance.
There were no signs of struggle or any blood left behind on the beach, although her belongings were found along the beach later that day.
The Dominican National Police and the Loudoun County Police Department have worked together to have Interpol issue a yellow notice. A yellow notice is an international alert to locate missing persons, specifically those who may have been abducted.
Though Sudiksha Konanki’s body has not been found, she is believed to have died by drowning.
