On Tuesday at 7:44 p.m., the National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory and a hazardous weather outlook for Pittsburgh International Airport and its surrounding areas, including Moon Township, effective until 10 a.m. on Wednesday.
According to the National Weather Service, Tuesday’s cloudy evening will give way to a light wintry mix with the bulk of the mix occurring around midnight until daybreak on Wednesday.
Accumulation around 1 to 2 inches is expected with a light glaze of ice possible from freezing rain.
The National Weather Service warns drivers to expect hazardous traveling conditions due to snow, sleet and ice covered roads.
