The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory that goes into effect at 10 a.m. on Saturday and lasts through Sunday at 7 p.m.
Tonight lows will be around 5 degrees with a 20 percent chance for snow.
On Saturday, snow showers will start around 10 a.m. and bring 1 to 2 inches of snow. During Saturday night, another 1 to 2 inches of snow is expected to fall, bringing total accumulations for Saturday to 2 to 4 inches.
Snowfall will continue throughout the day on Sunday until 7 p.m., bringing total weekend snowfall accumulations to 4 to 6 inches with 6 to 10 inches expected in the higher ridge elevations.
The National Weather Service said the most intense period of snowfall is Saturday afternoon into midday Sunday.
Winds will range from 10 to 15 miles per hour.
Snowfall will impact road conditions throughout the weekend. Drivers are asked to take precautions while on the roads.
