Robert Morris sophomore forward Alvaro Folgueiras was named Horizon League player of the week for the second time this season, the conference announced Monday.
Folgueiras has taken a major step in his sophomore season, especially as of late, helping the Colonials to winning nine of the past 11 games.
The Colonials won both games against Detroit Mercy at home and Northern Kentucky on the road.
Folgueiras averaged 25.5 points per game, 6.5 rebounds, and 2.5 steals, including a career-high 35 points against the Norse on Saturday. It is most points scored by a Colonial since Rodney Pryor in 2015.
He shot a lights out 82.6% from the field, including 71.4% from three-point range.
Folgueiras and the Colonials will look to continue their hot runs, facing Cleveland State on the road Wednesday at 7 p.m.
