The slate of games represents more of a sprint rather than a marathon; featuring just five games in total.
Of those five games, four are against Big South competition. The Colonials joined the conference as an associate member on June 15.
Their only non-conference matchup is against Virginian powerhouse James Madison, who beat the Colonials 73-7 in 2018. That contest is scheduled as the opening game of RMU’s season and will take place on February 27.
From that point on, the five Big South schools having football seasons will play a conference schedule to see who secures a spot in the FCS Playoffs.
In addition to Robert Morris, the Big South competition consists of Monmouth, Gardner-Webb, Kennesaw State, and Charleston Southern.
Conference play begins on March 13 and concludes on April 10.
Robert Morris faces a tough test to begin conference play as the Colonials battle Monmouth, who went 6-0 against Big South competition in 2019. Their remaining conference opposition went a combined 10-8 in conference play last season and boasts 2019 second and third place finishers Kennesaw State and Charleston Southern.
Below is the Colonials’ full schedule:
Feb. 27 @ James Madison
March 13 vs. Monmouth
March 20 @ Charleston Southern
April 3 @ Kennesaw State
April 10 vs. Gardner-Webb
