After a 15-9 overall record and 10-5-1 mark in Atlantic Hockey competition, the Colonials finished first place in the AHA Western Pod. As a result, Robert Morris is taking home four postseason awards for the Western Pod.
Nick Jenny: West Best Defenseman
Jenny had quite the senior season. In his final season with the Colonials, Jenny had 19 points. He also had a positive plus-minus with a plus-2. Jenny provided sturdy defense for the Colonials in addition to a strong presence on the offensive side.
Nick Prkusic: West Co-Player of the Year
In his final year, Prkusic, captain of the team, played some of his best hockey as a Colonial. He had 25 points, 14 assists, and 11 goals. Prkusic was also tied for the team lead in points. He played well and helped the Colonials win the West Division. He shared the award with RIT’s Will Calverley.
Randy Hernández: West Rookie of the Year
Hernández was tied with Prkusic with 25 points. He also had 14 assists, and 11 goals, the latter of which were tops on the roster. Hernández is going to continue to have a big role for the Colonials, and after his first season, the Colonials are going to have a strong offense with him on it moving forward.
Derek Schooley: West Coach of the Year
Schooley has been coach of the Colonials since 2004, and this is Schooley’s second Coach of the Year award, as his first came in 2015. After a 15-9 overall record and 10-5-1 conference record, he was recognized as the best coach of the regular-season. Schooley coached the Colonials to a stellar home record, as they went 11-4 in the confines of Clearview Arena.
