Courtney Poulich was nearly unstoppable on the plate last week, making history for the Colonials. Poulich blasted a program record three home-runs in a single game, and tied the single-game RBI record with seven RBI in a blowout 16-6 victory over Bucknell this past Saturday.
The conference announced the honor Tuesday afternoon.
Across six total matchups, Poulich batted a .538 hit percentage with seven total hits, with a total of four home runs, and two doubles during that span.
She also brought home 11 runs, walked 3 times, with no strikeouts.
The Colonials went 2-4 last week, picking up two dominant wins against Bucknell, 16-6 on Saturday, and 14-1 on Sunday. However, the Colonials would fall to Penn State, Villanova, as well as James Madison twice, posting a 4-4 overall record to start the season.
Poulich has had a fantastic start to the season, leading RMU in batting average, runs scored (8), hits (10), home runs (4), slugging percentage (1.263), on base percentage, (.625), as well as RBI (11).
She does not only lead the team in those statistics, but also ranks tops in the Horizon League in batting average, slugging percentage, hits, OPS, and home runs.
Her hot start has also paved her way to the sheets of the NCAA, ranking 10th in average, seventh in on base percentage, and third in slugging percentage.
Moving forward, the Colonials will travel to Nashville, Tennessee, where they will participate in the Music City Classic, turning their focus to a pair of doubleheaders, battling Lipscomb on Friday, and taking on Belmont on Saturday.
