After the opening series of the season, Veronica Bac and Thalia D’Elia were named AHA Players of the Week.
Veronica Bac, a standout forward, and Thalia D’Elia, a key defenseman for Robert Morris University, have been awarded conference honors for their exceptional performances.
Bac’s offensive prowess was on full display in the RMU Women’s Hockey Team home opener on Friday night. Netting two goals and an assist on teammate Thalia D’Elia’s goal in the opening game of the series against Union, Bac also scored a powerplay goal in the second game. Earning an impressive four points this week the recognition is well earned.
On the defensive end, D’Elia anchored RMU’s defense with her consistent and commanding presence on the ice. Scoring the opening goal on Friday’s home opener and assisting on Bac’s power play goal her two-way play was brilliantly put on display assisting in the win against Union on Friday.
RMU went even in the series with a respectable 1-1 record against Union, and the team looks to continue their incredible performances this week in their games against Bemidji State on October 4th and October 5th at RMU’s Clearview Arena. Puck drop is set for 7 P.M. Friday evening.
