Moon Township — Nine standout performers for RMU Football this season were selected to the NEC All-Conference team the organization announced last Friday.
On the offensive side, wide receiver Noah Robinson, tight end Landen Lucas, and center Luke Beltavski all received nods to the All-Conference First team.
Robinson, RMU’s single season reception record holder, caught 57 passes for 796 yards and 5 touchdowns, the fifth highest in the NEC this year. Landen Lucas also proved serviceable in the pass game, catching the ball 19 times for 220 yards.
Joining them on the first team is linebacker, Jamar Shegog. Shegog, along with All-Conference Second Team selection, Keon Freeman, provided a great one-two punch at linebacker for RMU this year. Shegog had 4 sacks and 111 total tackles with a 9.3 game average, second in the NEC.
Keon Freeman led the NEC in tackle average this season. His 9.6 average and 115 total tackles, 46 of which were solo, earned him his spot on the All-Conference second team.
Fellow star defensemen Rob Carter Jr. and Tyris Harvey also earned spots on the NEC second team. Carter grabbed 4 interceptions this season for the Colonials, including his viral, one handed catch against Utah State at the beginning of the season. The senior also garnered 28 tackles, 10 pass breakups, and a sack this season.
His partner in the secondary, Tyris Harvey, was second in the NEC for passes defended with 13. He also caught 2 interceptions and recorded a sack. His performance against Utah State earned him a co-NEC Defensive Player of the Week.
Running back Tyvon Edmunds Jr. made the All-Conference second team aswell. The senior was sixth in the NEC in rushing yards with 623. He also ran for 5 touchdowns and caught 24 passes for 145 yards this season.
Rounding up the Colonial selections is kicker Jayson Jenkins. Jenkins made 6 of his 10 field goals this year and had a season-long of 45 yards.
Football wrapped up their season against Stonehill last Saturday at home, with the Colonials coming out the victors, beating the Skyhawks 31-13.
Their season ended with a record of 7-5 and a 4-2 conference record.
