After a tumultuous career through the Portland Timbers organization, former RMU men’s soccer midfielder Neco Brett has come home to Pittsburgh. The 25-year old Brett signed with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds of the USL yesterday after being brought to training camp by the team. After liking what they saw from Brett throughout the preseason, the Riverhounds made it official.

Brett was a 2nd round pick in the MLS Super Draft back in 2016 where he was selected by the Portland Timbers. After an unimpressive campaign in Portland, Brett was released back in 2017.

During his time at Robert Morris, Brett scored 42 goals and 16 assists totaling 100 points which is good for third all-time in program history. Brett also holds the record for most career game-winning goals with 18. Brett will certainly go down as one of the greatest to play in a Colonials jersey.

The Riverhounds continue preseason play against the University of Pittsburgh on March 2nd at 7 p.m. and will begin their regular season play against Nashville SC on March 24th.
