College Hockey America (CHA) announced its players of the week for the weekend of Oct. 20-21.
Robert Morris’ Alaina Giampietro took home this week’s rookie of the week honors thanks to her performance against the number seven team in the nation, Clarkson Golden Knights.
Giampietro was the lone Colonial to find the back of the net against the Golden Knights, scoring once in each game.
The red-shirt freshman has eight points in eight games so far for the Colonials, putting her second on the team in points.
Giampietro is tied for fourth in the conference with fellow Colonial Morgan Giannone for the conference lead in goals and leads all rookies in with four goals, four assists, and points.
Her and the Colonials will start their CHA play this weekend as they travel up I-79 to take on the Mercyhurst Lakers.
